DISCOVER HOW TO SABOTAGE-PROOF YOUR FUTURE!

Discover how to sabotage-proof your future and you’ll suddenly notice that things will improve. As a result, you’ll get a raise, get a promotion, or get more recognition. Most people, with their negative attitude or bad decisions, actually sabotage their future. Thus, they wonder why things don’t work out for them. They may feel that the universe has it out for them and they never get any breaks. They may feel that they never have good luck.
In reality, for most people, none of those things really affect their future. It is usually a few simple things that high achievers realize are roadblocks that must be avoided.
If you want to advance your career, get a raise, obtain an advanced degree, or whatever, here are some steps to take in order to make sure that you do not sabotage your future.
1. DISCOVER HOW TO SABOTAGE-PROOF YOUR FUTURE BY CHANGING YOUR BELIEFS
Discover how to sabotage-proof your future by being aware that you’re just 6 inches away from greater success – the distance between your ears. As a result, the beliefs that you have, whether good or bad, dictate your actions. Most people have been programmed from their past to think in certain ways that don’t help them. Thus, if your parents struggled with money, you may have a scarcity mentality. If people in your past had negative attitudes, chances are that you have that belief in your attitude.
There’s a computer term that explains how the brain works. It’s called GIGO – garbage in, garbage out. Thus, if we program our minds with a scarcity mentality, then we’ll get actions that come from a point of scarcity. The subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between something real and something imagined. Thus, whatever we’re thinking, good or bad, is taken by our minds as being real and then we act accordingly.
We’re all talking to ourselves at the rate of 1,500 words per minute. Most of those words, by nature, are negative. As a result, negative thoughts can lead to fear, apprehension, and insecurity. These attributes can sabotage a future. Thus, we have to take specific steps to overcome the negative inputs of our past and change our thoughts to a prosperity mentality. There is no law that says we can’t do that.
Use Positive Affirmations
Discover how to sabotage-proof your future begins with positive affirmations – directions for the mind. Thus, if you need to improve your beliefs, the following affirmations will help:
Everything I touch prospers and succeeds. I spend time with positive, supportive people, am constantly learning and improving my personal development, staying out of debt, and saving money. Opportunities come to me from all directions. I am very creative, a great leader, and I solve problems. I am prosperous and I am a Champion!
State these affirmations, or supportive beliefs, the first thing every morning and the last thing every night, without analysis, and watch what happens in the next 90 days. We’re programming your mind for prosperity and expecting good things to happen.
2. BE CAREFUL WHO YOU ARE AROUND
Discover how to sabotage-proof your future means being careful with the people around us. It is said that we are the total sum of the five people we spend the most time with through the years. Thus, identify those five people and take inventory. Are these people successful? Do they live healthy lives? Do these people have happy, loving families? Are they prosperous and ambitious, responsible with money and supportive of your goals? Everyone in our lives is a member of one of two unions – either the building crew or the wrecking crew!
Take a mental inventory of those people’s lives. If you cannot answer “Yes” to the above questions, then spending time with these people is probably sabotaging your life. Whatever we focus on expands. If these people tend to have a negative attitude, you will expand that into your life. When they operate from a position of lack or fear, you will also expand that in your life. If they live paycheck to paycheck, spend money recklessly, and don’t have much in savings, those things will affect your life. May I suggest you stop listening to people who don’t have any money!
If too much of this sounds familiar, maybe it’s time to fire some of your friends. Seek out people who are more successful than you and ask them for advice. People are honored when we ask them for advice. Invite such people to lunch and look for a way to be of service to them. Dale Carnegie, in the book “How to Win Friends and Influence People”, said that people are as interested in us as we are in them. Show a lot of interest in people who are successful, get a prosperity attitude, and they will show interest in you. Look for ways to spend more time with people like that.
3. CONTINUE YOUR EDUCATION
Discover how to sabotage-proof your future has a lot to do with continuous education. Most people stop their education when they graduate from college or a trade school. They figure that they’ve obtained their basic education and now it’s time to go to work. That line of thinking has sabotage written all over it. That’s when our real education should begin! High achievers are constantly learning and they’re always looking for ways to improve their people skills.
Research has shown that the most successful people aren’t the ones who know the most about their chosen profession. It isn’t the technical skills that result in people being happier and more successful. The reality is that the people who make the most money, and are the most successful, are the ones who are continuously learning and have developed their people skills way above average.
Reading, the right books, over and over, is a very productive way to continue our education. I have found that it’s much more productive to read one or two books, over and over, rather than a lot of books, one time only. I recommend two foundational books that have helped more people become successful than most any other books. They are How to Win Friends and Influence People and Think and Grow Rich.
Read those two books at least three times over the next year or two and see what happens. Underline parts that seem important to you. Make them your success textbooks.
I would also recommend “The Dale Carnegie Course”. I took the course many years ago and found that it is an exceptional combination of human relations training as well as cultivating confidence while speaking in front of people. If you have an employee with great potential, and you feel that more confidence would help that person, send them to the course and watch what happens!
4. MANAGE YOUR MONEY PRODUCTIVELY
Discover how to sabotage-proof your future has much to do with how you manage money. Just as there are no courses in ordinary schooling on how to get along with people, there are also very few courses in how to manage money. Whether we feel comfortable or not with money has much to do with our confidence and our success. Thus, mishandling our money is a sure-fire way to sabotage our future.
If you were raised in a household where money was in short supply, you might have grown up thinking that you don’t deserve to have a lot of it. As a result, if your parents were always in debt, that tendency may have followed you into adulthood.
As adults, it’s not how much money we make. It’s how we manage it. If we don’t manage money well at the beginning of our career, when money may not be plentiful, we will never manage money when our income grows in the future. It’s a fact that when most people get raises, their expenditures go up.
Live a Little Below Your Means!
Discover how to sabotage-proof your future by realizing that most people live above their means and are usually a few weeks away from financial disaster. Successful people live a little below their means. Thus, they save a set percentage of their income every month. They pay in cash wherever possible and, if they want to buy something special, they often save for it rather than charging it. Realizing that credit card money is not really theirs, they use credit cards very sparingly and never carry balances from one month to another.
If you’re in debt at the moment, make it an important goal to stop charging, pay off those debts, and save money. Having money in the bank, and no debts, gives us confidence and will bring more opportunities our way. Also, carry a 100 dollar bill! That will make you feel prosperous. Have it where you can see it regularly in your wallet or purse. Also, put some 20 dollar bills around the house. Cash is real to our minds. Checks and credit cards are like playing Monopoly. Whatever we focus on expands. Thus, we want cash all around you!
Let take the word “sabotage” out of your future by paying attention to the 4 points above. Take action on these ideas and see what happens in the next few years. You’ll be getting rid of the roadblocks along the highway of life and allow very good things to happen down the road.
